Dr. Robert Gailey Named As Director of CCSP NZ

October 19, 2026

We are delighted to announce that Robert Gailey, MDiv, PhD, and ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene, has been appointed Director of the Creation Care Study Program (CCSP) in New Zealand, beginning in January 2027.

Gailey brings a background in sustainability education, theology, and international development. He serves as Director of the Center for International Development and Professor of Business in the Fermanian School of Business at Point Loma Nazarene University.

His teaching includes Sustainability in Action, complementing a career focused on helping churches, organizations, and students address global poverty through Christian approaches to holistic development. This background connects with CCSP’s emphasis on exploring the relationships between Christian faith and the flourishing of all God’s creation.

Gailey has led many student study abroad trips, including trips to New Zealand. We look forward to his leadership as students learn through the “CCSP way”: interdisciplinary study, shared community life, Christian spiritual formation, and experiential learning through engagement with New Zealand’s ecosystems, culture, society, and people.
