Stream Ecology

The students had an intense and exciting first week of class with Dave M.-- who came all the way from Michigan. There were a few good field trips checking out the local streams of Canterbury and we had some interesting results from water testing. During our class some local campers came and asked us for our professional opinion on the drinkability of a certain alpine stream! Through some water testing we were able to relay that the water had the pH level of distilled water-- not so bad! Hopefully they don't catch any parasites.....not our fault!
