Orientation: The students have arrived!!

All 16 of our students arrived here safely and a bit jet lagged, but we were happy to see them in whatever state of tiredness they were in! I don't know if the students knew what kind of orientation they were getting into, but us CCSP staff strive to achieve this idea of experiential learning. We had a full schedule to help the students familiarize themselves with the land and the people of New Zealand.

Our group, almost in entirety. Everyone threw Steph, SLC, a Western style surprise 24th birthday party. It was a roudy time with a good ol Texas BBQ!

Students dug hard for our Hangi, traditional Moari way of cooking, feast. It was a blazing fire and a great way to introduce NZ independence day, Waitangi Day and celebrate the treaty that began giving land back to the indigenous
peoples of New Zealand-- the Maori.
